]]><![CDATA[Compassionate Inquiry group starts end October]]>Sun, 25 Apr 2021 10:43:06 GMThttp://shalinigidoomal.weebly.com/whats-new/compassionate-inquiry-group-starts-24th-mayA somatic method of inquiry into how the your past shows up in your present interactions, Gabor Mate's Compassionate Inquiry (CI) is a marvellous way to examine attitudes, problems and stuck situations and emotions.
​I will be running a 6 week online group with guest CI practitioners, and a few other somatic facilitators.  which will allow you to take that deeper look at what may be troubling you and what needs healing.
This will be an experiential series, and participants are asked to attend all 6 x  1.5 hour group therapy sessions. In the groups, we will use various techniques to look at trauma and work towards resolvement and healing. As it is our second time running this, we are working with a suggested donation participation in the group.

A regular group of international tremorers forms the core of this group, which is facilitated by TRE providers who are also therapists and counsellors. Its a great way to broaden practice in a safe space.

]]><![CDATA[Compassionate Inquiry sessions open again]]>Fri, 05 Mar 2021 13:24:03 GMThttp://shalinigidoomal.weebly.com/whats-new/compassionate-inquiry-sessions-open-againAs we move into the 2nd level of CI training, we will once again have space for a few people to engage in free therapeutic sessions in exchange for recordings that we will use with our trainers to work on our technique. 

Compassionate Inquiry, developed by Canadian physician Dr Gabor Mate, looks at what lies beneath the appearance that we present to the world, and examines older patterns and core beliefs that shape the way we engage. It's a powerful way to examine yourself.

A precis of how the CI therapy-for-vids structure works:- 

My fellow therapists-in-training and I are entering into the practicum phase of the certification process and are looking for volunteers to work with.

The sessions are around 45 minutes and held over zoom (and, of course, are completely free of charge). We would record them in order for us to use them with our facilitators to assess our skill levels. You can sign up for one and see if it’s something that resonates with you, and if it does, you can continue with the same therapist for 6 sessions in total.

If we know each other personally I would refer you to another therapist. We have hypnotherapists, bodyworkers, NLP practitioners,  all upskilling with CI, as part of this venture.

You need to take the intro before attending the group, unless you have tremored before.

We have been running these online beginner TRE groups all year, and the feedback has been remarkable. Its an unusual modality - looks weird, and isn't that easy to describe.

In our rushed busy modern day lives disassociated often from the natural rhythms and requirements of our bodies, we have forgotten how to use and to engage this mechanism.
